A case of the "grumpies"

I try to be an upbeat person generally, but today I feel like. . .

And the worst part is, I don't know exactly why I feel grumpy.

I guess maybe it's an assortment of things?

I care a little too much about one thing or maybe not enough about another?

Who knows?

Hopefully this is just a 24 hour thing.

How do you deal with the "grumpies"?

Fave song Friday. . .

Definitely an old favorite, here.

I bet I have listened to this Maroon 5 cd a 1000 times and I can assure you, I am not exaggerating either.

Have a great weekend!

A little drive by dreaming . . .

I pass by this house everyday, to and from work.

I get excited every time, I pass by it.

Today, I got gutsy and pulled in the drive and decided to take a pic.

Such a risktaker, aren't I? : )

It's new construction, so excuse all the debris in the yard.

I haven't even seen the inside but I am love with this house.

But, I am sure the inside is just as precious as the outside.

This is the kind of home, I could see spending the rest of my years in.

Isn't it just darling?

Couldn't you just live there forever too?

1st day of 4th grade. . .

It's that time again. . .

You know, new clothes, new school supplies, new teachers and car wrecks in the car line. ( I so wish I was kidding, but I am not).

Anyhow, my sweet girl started 4th grade today.

She was all decked out in new duds from head to toe, carrying a new book bag and sporting a new do. Is it weird that I can still rememeber what I wore my first day of 4th grade too?

Anyhow, she has been so excited to start this year b/c she got an amazing teacher and her bff is in her class, this year. So, lots of stuff to look forward too!

Here she is, before we headed to school.

Photobucket

We woke up a bit late, (it takes us a couple of days to get back in the routine) so her hair was still a little wet but I still think she looks super cute.

Hope all your kiddos have a wonderful 1st day, as well!

A big thank you. . .

to Stephanie at Steph's sweet life.

She and I participated in a "Christmas in July" swap through Molly Lou gifts and this is what she sent me.

Doesn't she have WONDERFUL taste?

How cute is all this stuff?!

I seriously, love it all!

Thank you so very much, Stephanie!

I truly hope you love your gift as much, as I love mine. :)

A pretty little something for my yard. . .

I came across these garden flags at Kirkland's and had to have one!

You know me, I love all things "H".

But, I couldn't help but wonder are garden flags are still considered cool!?!

(I am embarrassed to admit it, that these are the kind of things that run through my mind, when I can't sleep at night.)

Anyhow, I do love the curb appeal that it gives to our home.

I just think it adds a little something extra.

Do you have a garden flag and are they still "cool"?

Or have they passed there "heyday", along with the pink flamingo and the dressable goose?

Sweet Caroline. . .

I took some pics some with *the* camera last night and realized I had never shown a pic of my Caroline

Here she is, in all her glory.

Isn't she sweet?

Fave song friday. . .

In honor of my 80's flashback this week, I decided to use a current song that sounds 80's to me!

Happy Friday!

"Sproost" up...

I came across this website called "Sproost" via Wendy's blog and of course, I had to try it out!

I admit it, I love these types of things and I am always curious to how accurate they are.

Here are my results. . .

I am 39% Nantucket style

Oh how you love the beach! Who doesn't, right? And so your dream home is either perched in your favorite beach town, or you've brought that favorite beach town into your house.

36% Wine Country Style

Tuscan sun, here we come! The Wine Country Style reflects the feelings evoked by the seaside regions of Europe such as the South of France, Spain, Italy and Greece. The style manages to be both refined and casual, such that you can mix beautiful antiques with more rustic wrought iron or wood and the result is both sophisticated and cozy. Furniture is large and comfortable, colors are bright and cheery, and regardless of the color palette the spaces almost always feel warm. You can easily translate the style into the perfect family environment but you can just as easily emphasize the more formal pieces and make your room the perfect adult getaway.

and 28% Cottage Chic

Who says that cottages can't be modern and chic? You love the carefree spirit that the cottage interior inspires, but you are also serious about your appreciation for modern art and hip treasures. You love old and new alike, and love to highlight them all to expose the uniqueness of each. What better way to show off these treasures than with a light background?

I have to say, I think the results are pretty accurate and as you can tell, I like variety!

Anywho, if you do this little quiz, I would love to hear what your results are and if it was/is accurate for you, as well!

Back to "cool". . .

Well, we got Maddie registered for 4th grade last week and she got the teacher she really, really wanted so she is super excited to start back.

Anyhow, I promised her that we would do a little back to school shopping this weekend and OH MY GOODNESS, that child wore me out!

She has gone from this this little girl, that had absolutely no desire to step foot in a store (except for maybe a toystore) to a big girl, that wants to hit up all the trendiest clothing stores!

So, we went to Justice on Saturday to buy her a couple of outfits to get started school with.

I'm not gonna lie, Justice is not cheap but I had a 40% off coupon, so I was game.

Well, we got in there and I swear it's preteen heaven!

I kid you not, she brought me 10 different outfits she wanted and was looking for more!

Ummm...no.

So, we narrowed it down to 3 with the promise that I would bring her back to buy a couple more with the J-bucks, I had accumulated.

I have to admit, it is a fun store and I do like going in there.

What really amazed me was, the clothes totally looked like something I wore when I was her age.

Totally 80's throwback!

I didn't realize how much that stuff had come back around.

For example;

LOVE the neon paint splattered jean jacket!

I totally would have worn this stuff back in the day!

Totally takes you back, doesn't it?!

Here are a few things we picked up;

She also got this funky messenger bag in the red tartan plaid with a HUGE black patent peace sign on it.

I think it's safe to say that, the funkier the better, for Maddie.

She did say and I couldn't help but giggle.

"Mama, I am gonna be one stylin' girl this year! I am gonna look soooo cool!"

And she's right, she so is.

I do believe, our Gymboree days are long gone.

Mama's got a brand new toy to play with. . .

Isn't she a beaut?

She's not actually mine, she's my parents but they are letting me borrow her and learn how to use her and all they really care about is the fact that they get some good pictures.

I was so close to buying my own and then of course Murphy's law hit and I had to have new tires for my car! So, not fun!

So, my parents bought one and currently I am her foster mama and believe you, me I am completely in love with her. :)

Wish me luck on how to figure out all the buttons and gadgets she is equipped with and hopefully, soon I will have some pretty pics to share! :)
