Fave Song Friday. . .

I stumbled upon this on Rachel's blog and loved it!

I bet I have listened to it almost daily ever since.

It's so neat the hear the two songs intertwine.

HAPPY FRIDAY! :)

A few more pretties at Pier One. . .

Oh, how I LOVE Pier one!

Just felt like showing y'all a few things, I was drooling over while I was there.

This rug, I big red puffy heart it! Seriously, I need it for my kitchen.

LOVE the colors, the pattern, everything!

Check out these measuring cups, how cute are they?!?

Anthropologie has a set that I have been wanting forever, but I think these are just as cute and are a 1/3 of the price.

Check out these door knob hooks?! Cute too, huh?!

Lastly, totally LOVE this chandelier! It's classic and can be dressed up or down.

I could seriously spend a fortune there, love that store!

Porch update. . .

Just wanted to share a quick pic of my newly painted star and furniture, and as you can see, I decided on blue for the star.

I am so in love with this shade of blue right now!
I wanted the original color of the star to still come through so I just lightly brushed this on.

I love the color and contrast against the brick.

Plus, it matches my Pier one pillows perfectly!

This is our newly painted rocker that Jeffro painted for me.

I think he did a pretty job, if I say so myself.

Told ya'll, we've been busy!

Oh and here's a quick shot of my flowers, that I decided to get as my mother's day gift.

I want to get 2 more baskets of them though, to finish out my porch.

These are called calibrochia and so far, they are thriving, so YAY for me!

The nursery said these were low maintenance and that's exactly what I needed.

This girl was so not born, with a green thumb!

Lastly, here is a pic of my Hydrangea wreath on my front door.

I just love hydrangeas!

Oh and pay no attention to the yucky candle in the chiminea, I hadn't even noticed it until I posted this pic. It's time for some new candles, I do believe! :)

Still have lots to do but we are getting there!

Been a wee bit busy. . .

this Memorial Day weekend!

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Memorial Day! We did, and today was our Anniversary so we took an extra day off of work to enjoy it! Love, love, love long weekends!

It was a busy and productive weekend. We spent most of the weekend updating our bathroom! The old wallpaper was peeling, the light fixture was rusting, everything was just majorly outdated and OLD.

So, we decided to bring it into the new century and revamp it a bit.
I found a bathroom that I loved that was an apple green with white accents. So, we have used this pic as our "muse". It's gonna take a LOT of work to get ours somewhat similar but we are trying and so far I love the changes.

Jeff is on the fence about the color but I think it is growing on him, as he tends to like more traditional colors.

Like I said, we still have a lot of work ahead and I am sure getting this done will be our or (my) weekend project for a while. But, that's ok because it will be well worth it!

This week is Maddie's last week at school and believe me, she is super excited for the summer! Third grade has been a challenge but she has managed to still be on the honor roll and breeze through. She's a whiz and I can not believe my baby is going to be 10 and in 4th grade this year!

My mom is still hobbling around, the dr's put her in 2 boots so she is at least able to walk around a bit. Poor thing, I feel so bad for her. Hopefully, her ankles will heal soon!

Our pup Shelby, is still hurt but she is at least able to use her leg. She seems to just have lost use of her paw but she hasn't it let her slow her down a bit. So, we are very thankful for that!

Lastly, I checked on the foreclosure down the street and I am having the hardest time getting info about it. Has anyone bought a foreclosure? I have spoken to the "master in equity" and he currently has no info about it. So, we will just wait and keep checking. We are content where we are right now, just still wanting to buy so we can make all the changes we would love to make and make a home "ours".

That time will come though, I have hope!

More Pottery Barn looks at a fraction of the cost. . .

I was just reading Susie's blog about her finding some fab lanterns at Walmart that look just like PB's, and that were a fraction of the cost.

So, I thought I would post a few things I found that I love from Pottery Barn that I have found at JC Penney for a fraction of the cost!

I'm lovin' the pharmacy lamps out there right now.

Here is PB's version for $139.

Here is one at JC Penney that I think I like even more, for $49.99!

A really cool mirror at PB for $299.99.

>

A mirror almost exactly like it, at JCP for $179.99!

Pottery Barn leaning shelf $299.99

JCP's version for $119.00!

See, if you do a little bit of research you can most likely find the Pottery Barn look you are going for, without the Pottery Barn price!

Pretty Window. . .

This is my contribution to frugal decorating, as this project has cost me less than $10 and was so fun to do!

Ok, I am not completely done with this yet, but so far I love it, and just had to show y'all!

I found some windows at a local antique store for $5.00 and knew I wanted to use them somehow, in our home.

Well, I came across where Jeanne had turned an old door into an inspiration board.

BTW-How cool is her door?

So, I decided to take that idea and run with it.

I decided I needed an inspiration window!

I still have a bit of work to do to it, and it's far from perfect, but I love it and it will brighten up my room so much!

Here it is in all it's glory.

I just put cork in three of the panes and scrapbook paper in the other three.

A couple of close ups of the paper I used.

I wanted something bright and cheery and this fit the bill perfectly.

Like I said, it's far from perfect but I really do like it!

I almosted painted ita different color but I decided I liked the shabby chic-ness(is that a word?) it currently sports now.

In fact, I am thinking about distressing it a bit more.

Then, I took some scrapbooking brads, that coordinated with this paper and glued thumbtacks to the back to use them as pushpins.

I loved how they turned out!

Here is a shot of the front.

This is how they look from the back.

I had so much fun, doing this!

I think my daughter may just need one for her room, as well!

Now, I am off to see what all y'all have done! :)

Help a girl out here...

Ok, I consistently read about all these fab finds, people are getting at yard sales, thrift stores, Craigslist...etc.

Here in lies my problem...

I ALWAYS feel obligated when I go to a yard sale to buy something.

I have stayed away from Craiglist for this very same reason.

How do you do it? Do you feel the same way?

So, I tend to just completely avoid these venues!

Help a girl out!

What do y'all do?

I wanna get in on some these fab thrifty finds!

Caa-ute baby gift!

Two posts in one day! WOOT!

Anyhow, I just had to share my recent purchase for baby gifts.

I am one of those people that always wants to get the *perfect* gift and I TOTALLY always over think it.

Anyway, I came across Trumpette socks in a local boutique and just fell in love with them!

I love that they are something a bit different but totally useful as well.
I happen to think they are super cute too!

For Sam:

For Lucy:

For Quinn:

Just thought this were to cute not to share.

Oh and girls be on the lookout for your goods! :)

Weekend Update. . .

I had a FABULOUS Mother's Day! I hope you did as well!

Maddie picked me out some incredibly funky flowers.

Which totally suits her, as she has incredibly funky taste.

Tie Dye Roses, have you ever seen these? Pretty neat, huh?

I had never seen these, or heard of them for that matter.

Jeff bought me some pretty hanging baskets for my front porch.

So, I am heading to the local nursery this weekend to pick up some pretty flowers.

Any suggestions?

I also hit up Michael's and bought some crafty stuff.

Lots of fun stuff to keep Maddie and I busy this summer!

I also bought this!

Love me some Martha Stewart! Can't wait to get it and dive into it!

Lastly, my poor mom fell yesterday and sprained one ankle pretty bad and broke the other! So, she is currently not able to walk at all! So, lots of prayers that she is able to recover quickly. We are not the most graceful bunch, here. AT. ALL.

I have been known to fall UP and DOWN stairs.

Definitely not one of my prouder moments.

My poor husband just shakes his head at me.

Oh, and I will try to post pics this week of my latest projects.

I promise they are nothing life changing, but I had fun doing them nonetheless! :)

and one of these. . .

Oh, and one of these, please!

Oooh, and one of these!

Actually, I just love it ALL!

I love the colors and I love the scripture that accompanies them.

I have come that they might have Life, and have it to the full. JOHN 10:10 NIV

How gorgeous is it?!

Well, guess what?!

If you love it, like I do, then you can go here, here or here and enter to win it!

Good luck!

Fave song Friday. . .

Love, love, love this song!

Whenever it comes on the radio, Maddie and I belt it out, at the top of our lungs.

Hope you like it too and Happy Friday!
