Happy 2013!

Happy New Years, y'all!

I'm linking up with Jeannett again for instafriday!

I love this because, it's just a fun little way to recap my week. :)

Here's how we celebrated New Year's Eve.

Very low key but fun.

Maddie even broke out her guitar and provided our entertainment.

She's a fast learner, y'all.

She's been teaching herself how to play and I'm seriously impressed! :)

These are my fave marshmallows, I love them good and toasted on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside.

mmmm....good!  (I kinda want one now, ha ha)

Then, we realllllly got wild and broke out these!

and I ended up looking like this...

My hair was highly flammable at this point, so I decided it was in my best interest to avoid the fire.  ha ha

On new years day, it's a tradition that we have to have some sort of pork for good health, "hoppin johns" or black eyed peas for good luck and some sort of greens for wealth.

Mmmm, mmm! I seriously LOVE this meal and what made it even better is that JEFF cooked it!

I mean seriously, DOES IT GET ANY BETTER?!

I'm not sure if this is just a southern tradition or not.

Do you and your family have any special New Year's traditions? If so, I'd love to hear them!

Hope your year is off to a good start! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I pretty much did the same thing as you for New Years. We toasted marshmallows around a fire pit. It was cold, but nice :-). Happy New Year!
