Yesterday was Jeff's grandmother's birthday. Beatrice or (Batrice) as I call her.
She is one the neatest people I know. She is a feisty red head that makes you feel better just for knowing her. Have you ever met someone like that?
I wanna be someone like that!
Anyhow, since I met Jeff she has welcomed me with open arms. All of his family has, and as far as in-laws are concerned, I am a lucky girl. :)
My Grandmother passed away in July and I miss her dearly. So, Jeff's Grandmother has become a bit of a surrogate for me and I appreciate her so much for that.
So HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BATRICE! We love you and will see you soon!

The Heart
I have spent the day reminiscing with family. I was reminded of something Maddie said a few years ago and it melts my heart everytime.
Maddie is an inquisitive child, always has been. She has always particularly been interested in the human body and how things work.
Well, a couple of years ago she was explaining something about the body to my aunt. Maddie was about 5, I believe. Anyhow, my aunt asked Maddie what her favorite body part was. Maddie's response was "The Heart" .
My aunt asked her "Why?"
To that, Maddie replied "Because it makes people fall in love" .
I thought that was *the* sweetest sentiment.
I love her!
We'll miss you.
My aunt died unexpectedly this morning. She had some health problems but no one expected her to pass away so soon. We lost my Grandmother in July and she lost her husband in September. So, these last few months had been hard for her. Hard for my whole family.
She was the "fun" aunt and I can remember when I was little, how much I LOVED to be around her. She was always out there playing with us and we loved her so.
She was 46 years young and the older I get, the younger that seems. We loved you Nee-Nee and will miss you dearly.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I know I am a few days late, better late than never...right?
Anyhow, I have high hopes for 2008. Last year was tough and a bit of a rollercoaster for my family but we got through it. Though, I am sure it made us stronger somehow. As "Anne of Green Gables" says, "That which does not kill us, will only make us stronger." I sure hope so!
My resolutions are....
1. To grow stronger in my Faith.
2. To take time for myself and take care of myself. (I have some stuff I have been putting off for a while).
3. Get our financial act together!! This is a biggie! We look back and are like "WOW, where did all that $$ go!" NO MORE! We have got to get a handle on it.
4. Restart school and FINISH!!
5. Stop procrastinating.
I can and will do my best to accomplish these things. Baby steps, one at a time. :)
Here's wishing many WONDERFUL things for you in 2008 (and me too)!!
