Fat and happy...

We had a glorious Christmas, hope you did too!

Though, I'm noticing my jeans are a bit tighter today. Hmmm...wonder why?! Surely, it can't be from the fact that I totally used the holidays as an excuse to overindulge just a wee bit?!?? ;)

I've already started taking my Christmas decor down bit by bit. Though, I do plan on keeping my tree up a while longer. I love laying on the couch and enjoying the glow of the Christmas lights. I mean seriously, does it get much better than that?! Not in my mind! : )

For the first time, eva...I am linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for instafriday. It's just a fun little way to recap your wk via instagram and instagram is kinda like crack to me. Totally addicted.

The Huntley's

well, I crashed and burned on that 31 days posting party.
Oh well, life does get in the way sometimes! I did want to share some of our recent family pics with y'all and I BIG, RED, PUFFY HEART them!

These are just a few of the ones that I've seen thus far, but I am so very pleased!

(we copied the Christmas lights pic from a pic that I loved off of Pinterest) It's not the most flattering pic of Jeff and I but I love the expressions on our faces. We literally couldn't keep a straight face!  : )

My most fave! Don't we clean up well?! : )

Hope you're having an amazing week so far!

Day 2 and a change of plans...

Ok, so I've decided to go a different route with this whole 31 day thing. I decided to post about things that I love/want/enjoy/ etc. because let's be honest, I don't even have it enough together to post about getting it together! ha! : )

Here's the first thing I want to share with y'all. It's a christian parody band called Apologetix, and we had the pleasure of going to their concert this summer and I was totally blown away. They do covers or rather parodies of popular and turn them into christian songs (so, to speak).

They are super talented and if you ever get the chance to see them perform, you should go! It was seriously sooooo fun!!!

Here are a few of their videos for you to enjoy. : )

You can find a ton of their songs on youtube, too!

31 days of getting myself on track...

I'm going the Nester's 31 day linky party because lately I'm finding myself, way off course.

Do you ever feel that way?

So, I am totally putting myself out there and gonna find AND share things that may help me and possibly YOU, to get myself back on track and make my day to day life easier and of course, if you have any tip or tricks that work for you, please share!!!

Here's the first day. I came across this cleaning schedule on pinterest (ummm...I'm totally using my pinterest for LOTS of the inspiration!)

BUT, I think this is TOTALLY doable and something that I want to implement in my own home.

How about you?

Do you have a cleaning schedule that works for you and your family?

Twins...

I took this picture before church on Sunday because Maddie and I both walked out of our bedrooms, dressed eerily similar. Both of us were wearing denim jackets over a sundress and the same color shoes. The older my sweet girl gets, the more and more she becomes my mini me and the fact that people say that we look alike, makes me grin from ear to ear because I think she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

  Happy Wednesday, y'all!

Show us your life-Fave Beauty Products

It's no secret, that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cosmetics. (In fact, I'm secretly hoping for a trip to Ulta today! ; ) ) So, when I saw that Kelly was asking people to share their fave beauty products, I was totally in! : )

Here are my CURRENT faves... ; )

I turned 35 this year and I am seriously trying to take better care of my skin and slooowwww down the aging process, as much as possible. So, I started doing some research on AFFORDABLE anti aging products, especially under eye creams. (My under eye area is my biggest nemesis these days!) Well, I read that you can actually use some products as under eye creams too! Oil of Olay regenerist serum was one of them, so, I LOVE that I can use one product for two uses and honestly, I really like it and I think the texture of my skin is sooo much better.

I use it for under my eyes and all over my face and I can seriously tell a difference if I don't use it. This stuff is awesomesauce!

Ok, I was a total Bare Escentuals makeup user for YEARS. I loved it and swore that I would never, ever, ever use anything else. I do still think it's an awesome product but I noticed that skin wasn't looking as smooth and went to Ulta and expressed my concerns to one of the sales girls and she suggested that I try Pur Minerals. Not even gonna lie, I was super hesitant and really wasn't to keen on the switch at first but now, I'm totally hooked. I think my coverage is actually better and I love that it's a pressed powder and seems to go on smoother AND no more break outs! yay!! : )

As much as I love the Pur Minerals foundation, I still prefer my Bare Minerals blush and I use several colors. I'm super duper fair and freckled at that, so I prefer something soft and light. I do believe my fave is the laughter by Bare Minerals. Though, I switch between the Glee and True colors too!

Then, to "soften" my face and I think it also helps, if I go a little heavy handed with my blush. I use my beloved mineral veil by Bare Minerals.

I'm always, always, always on the hunt for a great mascara and the one I currently use is "They're Real" by Benefit. Again, I didn't love it at first but now I do. Though, I do think it's spendy and I'm not sure it works all that much better than some of the cheaper versions that I've tried. ("Falsies" by Maybelline and "Luminous" by Loreal are some of my other faves) But, it is definitely a good mascara.

Until recently, I never wore eye shadow or eye liner but loved the look of it on others and wanted something to make my eyes POP. So, on my birthday, I went to Ulta (SURPRISE!) and visited the Benefit counter and saw this kit and it was an all in one (concealer, eye shadow, eye liner and brushes) and decided to splurge and I do love it! I don't use it everyday but when I want to make my eyes stand out a little more, I do use it. I also love that it's very subtle but you can tell a difference with it. Plus, the powder eye liner is a great one to start with if you never used an eye liner, it's a LOT more forgiving and easier to work with.

While, I like the concealer that comes with the kit above, I still prefer my Mary Kay concealer. I've used this stuff for years and I love that it brightens my under eye area and conceals my dark circles, plus, it doesn't settle into the fine lines under my eyes.

(Another little trick, use mineral veil and just pat it under your eyes after you conceal, and it sets your concealer so it lasts longer)

Lastly, here's my fave lip stuff. I always, always, always line and color in my lips. My fave lip liner is the liner made by Ulta. I usually use a nude or tawny color, it goes on smooth and it's cheap! : )

Then, I finish it off with some gloss. I seriously think I'm addicted to lip gloss. Well, I actually KNOW I am. Here's my current fave. It gives me a bit of color and it's the perfect amount of sticky AND shine! : )

Anyhow, I'd love to hear what your fave products are!

Gettin' my craft back...

I've recently discovered the joy of making felt flowers and I LOVE it! Seriously, so FUN and I love that when I'm doing a project that I think about NOTHING else but what I'm working. Projects are AWESOME stress relief.

Have a looksie at what I've worked on lately...

The corkboard, I'm kinda torn on, I like it but it's in my living room over my desk and everyone can see it. What do you think, cute or not?!

The wreath, I am thrilled with! Seriously, LOVE it! It's not perfect but for my first effort, I think I did pretty good, if I may say so myself! : )

What about you?

What have you been working on?

Everything you didn't need to know about me but I'm gonna tell you anyway...

Happy Monday, y'all!

I was not feeling so hot this weekend and Jeff and I were hanging out and started talking about our quirks and I thought hmmm...good blog post?! Nothing like telling all of random things about yourself to the world wide web! ; D

Here goes...

I prefer to use men's razors, I have bought the nice fancy schmancy women's razors but I still prefer the men's!

I have recently been diagnosed with some health issues and I have since changed my diet and have been mostly avoiding sugar and holy cow, can I tell a difference in how I feel!

I just started wearing full fledged eye makeup and WOW, makes a big difference and it's been so fun to play around with it!

A few months ago, I started Olay regenerist and I can tell a HUGE difference in my skin. LOVE this stuff and I dont even buy a seperate eye cream anymore, this works as eye cream too . It's awesomesauce y'all!

I have another blog giveaway coming up with a blogger that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Super excited about that!

My birthday was last week and I turned  35 !!!!  Really?!?! Surely, I am not 35, that just seems like such an adult age and I feel like I should have all my stuff together by now. But alas, I don't! But really? Who does?!

My mom and I were talking the other day and she said she felt like she was too "old" to wear certain things like long hair, leather cuffs and converse, for example. I told her that if I want to wear those things when I am her age, that I will! Is that bad?! Should I care more about being "age appropriate" and who says those things aren't "age appropriate"? Who decides what is "age appropriate"?

I really LOVE this sweater from old navy.

I'm totally enamored by instagram. I'm smmljs on there, follow me 'kay?!

I just registered Maddie for 7th grade, ummm... really?! Maddie is in 7th grade!  Blows my mind! I can remember 7th grade and I have to say she ROCKS it so much better than I did. I was soooo self conscience of who I was and what I looked like and she is just the opposite and I love that about her. I hope she always feels that way about herself!

I got my hair cut and I bought some of that shampoo that you can only buy in the salon ($$$) and I do love it but I totally use the cheap stuff on the days that I have NO intention on leaving the house. Is that weird or do you do that too?

I watched "fat, sick and nearly dead" and now I want to buy a juicer, or do I wanna do smoothies instead? Juicing vs. Blending is the big debate in my head right now.

We moved into the "country" aka 5 min out of town in December and while I do like"country" living, I am not quite fond of the mice that we've had. So, to rid ourselves of that problem, we decided we needed a kitty cat and now we have two. Charlie and Elsie.  Ok, so I love the cats, but I do NOT love litter boxes. Seriously, they stink and are yucky and I am seriously debating on how hard it is to potty train a cat or cat(s) rather.   I so wish I was kidding but I am not.

Oh! Did you know that if you go to Ulta on your birthday, you can get a free brow wax at the Benefit bar? You're welcome.

I don't even know if anyone even reads my blog anymore but in case you do, "HI!!!" and I hope my random musings didn't scare you away!

Have a good one! : )

Summer mantle

OK, so we moved into a new house in December and it's been fun to have a new space to decorate! I was actually able to paint, here! YAY for NO paneling!!! :)

Anyhow, here's my attempt and decorating my new mantle for summer. Who knew, it was so hard to decorate a mantle! But, I think it turned out cute AND summery, regardless. : )

Still have LOTS to do, but we're getting there. : )

A is for adventure...!

I have a new adventure that I am embarking on and it's this...

Isn't it gorgeous?!

Origami Owl's story starts with a teenager and a dream. Our company was founded by 14 year-old Isabella in the fall of 2010. Fueled by a goal to raise enough money to buy a car for her 16th birthday, she started the business with $350 worth of babysitting money and a matched contribution from her parents. She sold her unique line of personalized jewelry at home parties and events and quickly realized that this brand has an energy all its own. People absolutely love creating and wearing personalized jewelry that has meaning and is special to them.

This is such a fun company to be a part of and not to mention that our jewelry is beautiful!

Here's a few more pics for your viewing pleasure! ; )

And of course, if you'd like to find out about ordering some of our jewelry or inquire about selling origami owl, I'd love to help you! : )

Goodness, this week flew by! It's been a fun but hectic week and I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day!

My sweet niece Hayden introduced me to this song last summer and everytime I hear it, I can hear Hayden singing "what if your blessings came through rainnnnndrrrooooopssssss...." : ) She's such a cutie!

Anyhow, enjoy and happy Friday!
