We're going a little country today.
I love the simple message in this song and think it's completely true.
Happy Friday!!

Me minus 40...
Some of you may have already seen this picture but I'm so stinkin' proud of myself that I wanted to share here too.
I never thought I could do this a year ago, and I have and I want to keep going and going...
Here I am, in the goodwill dressing room, mind you! LOL
(I'm telling y'all, goodwill is my new favorite place!)

I don't have a full length mirror at home so, I took full advantage of this one and let me tell ya, it's not an easy take to take a self body shot!
Hence, the weird angle. LOL
I still have a ways to go but I am getting there and I've never felt better both physically and emotionally. : )
Thanks for sharing in this journey with me! <3

Fave Song Friday...

A new seat in town...
Check out my latest "revamp" and unfortunately I can't find a before pic anywhere. : (
So, here's a similar chair that I found on craiglist.
I found mine at Goodwill for $10.00 but mine was the same finish and all.
a little close up of some of the distressing...
the spindles
and one of the arms.
(and i'm so sorry for the terrible quality of pics, some days it just so much easier to use my phone.)
(*hint* they are gonna go in my bedroom!)
I'm linking this to The Shabby Nest's Frugal Friday linky!

and here's what I did with some antique white paint, mocha glaze and a sanding block!

Nothing like trying to give something a perfect paint job and the sanding it back off!
This one I'm keeping for me, I needed a new computer chair and I just love old banker's chairs!

I'm soo excited...
and I just can't hide it...!
(cue the pointer sisters) LOL
Anyhow, the reason for my excitement is that I just sold my first piece that I refinished myself!!
WOO HOO!!
It was just a mirror but still, I'll take it!!
It's so validating when someone actually wants to spend their hard earned money on something I did.
I've sold lots of little things, but no furniture yet so hence, the excitement.
Seriously, you couldn't have wiped the smile off of my face yesterday when I found out! : )
So far, I have had the *best* time with the booth, it's been a blast to shop for it. I try to think outside of the box when I see things and also try to remember that just because it's not *my* taste that someone else might not love it and vice versa.
Goodwill has become my new bff. LOVE Goodwill! Seriously.
I've found some really, really cool things in there!
Yesterday when I went to restock it some, Connie (the owner) and I chatted for a bit and she told me this was her 3rd store and that she has been doing this since 1976.
She and her husband do this full time and have the best time doing it.
Umm...hello! I think I may have found my dream job. : )
I seriously enjoy every minute that I get to spend devoted to my 50 sq ft.
Who knows, maybe one day, I can do this gig full time. : )
Here's a more updated pic, a few more odds and ends and I still want to get my own walls up.
Any thrifty suggestions about walls?
(cue the pointer sisters) LOL

41!!
41 is the number of pounds that I have lost since 11/07/09!!!
I am so proud of myself and not just because of the weight loss but because I am doing things that I didn't think I could.
Yesterday, I walked and jogged (just a little bit of jogging LOL) 2 miles!!!
Y'all that is HUGE for me! I haven't done any structured exercise in such a very, very long time.
I wanted to die afterwards LOL, but after I got my wits together, I was so very proud of myself.
It does help that I have a friend that goes with me and pushes me way harder than I would push myself and trust me when I say that I walked, I'm not talking about some leisurely stroll. I'm walking like I'm on a mission.
I guess you could say I am on a mission. : )
I still have more weight to lose but I'm getting there and getting more and more comfortable in my skin more and more everday and that is a WONDERFUL feeling!
Anyhow, I don't have any recent body shots but I do have this pic of me from Friday and I can tell a big difference in my face.

Hope y'all have a good week! : )
