Back to "cool". . .

Well, we got Maddie registered for 4th grade last week and she got the teacher she really, really wanted so she is super excited to start back.

Anyhow, I promised her that we would do a little back to school shopping this weekend and OH MY GOODNESS, that child wore me out!

She has gone from this this little girl, that had absolutely no desire to step foot in a store (except for maybe a toystore) to a big girl, that wants to hit up all the trendiest clothing stores!

So, we went to Justice on Saturday to buy her a couple of outfits to get started school with.

I'm not gonna lie, Justice is not cheap but I had a 40% off coupon, so I was game.

Well, we got in there and I swear it's preteen heaven!

I kid you not, she brought me 10 different outfits she wanted and was looking for more!

Ummm...no.

So, we narrowed it down to 3 with the promise that I would bring her back to buy a couple more with the J-bucks, I had accumulated.

I have to admit, it is a fun store and I do like going in there.

What really amazed me was, the clothes totally looked like something I wore when I was her age.

Totally 80's throwback!

I didn't realize how much that stuff had come back around.

For example;

LOVE the neon paint splattered jean jacket!

I totally would have worn this stuff back in the day!

Totally takes you back, doesn't it?!

Here are a few things we picked up;

She also got this funky messenger bag in the red tartan plaid with a HUGE black patent peace sign on it.

I think it's safe to say that, the funkier the better, for Maddie.

She did say and I couldn't help but giggle.

"Mama, I am gonna be one stylin' girl this year! I am gonna look soooo cool!"

And she's right, she so is.

I do believe, our Gymboree days are long gone.

oh how sweet! I have two boys so I won't have the fashion show fun, but maybe I'll get to pick out their digs even longer! Ha! I totally wore a paint splattered mini, although mine was stone washed aaak!!

Cute, Cute. I was looking at ads of sample outfits for boys and girls the other day and I really noticed to girls outfits were very, very eighties and the boys were more preppy but to think of it I guess preppy was in during the eighties as well! Can't say I love this new old look though...glad I can still pretty much choose my kids clothes!

Oh, wow, that does brig back memories! Courtney could care less what she wears right now. I just bring it home and she's happy....I know those days will not last much longer, though!

Yeah, I do miss the days when I got to dress in her cute stuff.
She used to care less what she wore, me on the other hand, loved it! LOL
Last year is when she started vetoing stuff, I would pick out. This year, she has her own style and I am trying to go the with the flow b/c Maddie and I differ big time in clothing choices, that's for sure! :) But, I am kinda liking that she is developing her own style, and she's always been a bit spunky. :)
