Finally!

My corner piece is done!

If you remember, I decided to paint it because I wanted to brighten up my living room and since, I can't paint the walls, I thought this was an easy solution!

So, here's the before. . .



and here's the after!




I have to say that I truly love it and it brightens up that space so much!!



I ordered some knobs from Anthropologie but they haven't come in yet, so I bought a few "birdcage" knobs from Lowe's until the others come in.


It's late in the evening so, I couldn't get a great pic but these give you the basic idea.

So, what do you think?

I'm thinking it looks much, much better and definitely accomplishes what I wanted to do! : )

It's not done yet, but it's coming along nicely and I have no regrets about painting it!

Lovely lamps. . .

My mom and I were in Hobby Lobby the other day and I started perusing the lamps and I was in awe.

They had some really cute ones and I admit it, I have a thing for lamps.

I love them!

They just add so much to a room.

Here are a few that caught my eye...

I really, really want this one for our family room!

1/4 of the way. . .

I'm a 1/4 of the way to my weight loss goal and I will admit that, it feels FANTASTIC!!!

Seriously, this is what has kicked started my whole "resurfacing" journey.

By taking better care of myself, I see can myself resurfacing.

On 11/07/09, I met with a nutritionist at the urging of my parents because they knew I needed and wanted some direction.

She's a godsend.

Seriously.

Love her.

She's the perfect blend of being nice and being just mean enough for me to fear her.

Especially, when I eat things, I know I shouldn't.

I have done so well, but these 2 things are so tempting to me.

What a weird combination too, huh? 

By the way, these items are currently banned from my home. : )

I have also learned that the old adage "You are, what you eat" is in fact true.

At least, in my case, because if I eat crap, I feel like crap, ya know?!

It's amazing because I am actually craving things like water and fruit!

Who knew!?!

Maybe now that I am getting the eating part down pat, I can get a structured exercise routine going too.

Do you exercise? 

If so, what do you do and how often do you do it?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Resurfacing. . .

Nope, not talking about decorating or refinishing furniture or anything of that sort.

I'm talking about me.

I'm talking about finding myself, again.

Remembering who I was, who I am, who I want to be.

I think I've been "lost" for a while and I feel like I am starting to find my way back, if that makes sense.

Please excuse me, b/c in no way, am I eloquent with words and I'm sure I am usually grammatically incorrect.

So, please bare with me. Or, is that bear? ; )

Anyhow, since 11/7/09, I've made some changes in my life.

Changes for the better, I think.

I've started to take better care of me and believe you me, I've let me go for a while. A long while.

So,I'm on a journey to resurface, me.

To become a better version of a wife, mother, daughter, friend, and me.

I'm stepping out my "comfort" zone and doing things, I've said and wanted to do for a long while.

I'm gonna make more of an effort to take care of me and I think by doing that, I can offer more to others.

Anyhow, I may post here about my journey or I may set up a different blog just for that.

Wish me luck, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. : )

I did start painting my corner piece, this weekend.

Antique white, mind you.

I LOVED the thought of a pretty teal blue but, Jeff nixed it.

In fact, he didn't want me to paint it, at all.

I nixed that idea, so, we compromised and antique white, it is.

Plus, I still had some antique white on hand.

So, I saved some $$!

But, then I ran out, before I finished it.

So, now I get to go buy some more!

Go figure, right?!

Anyhow, here's where my inability to make a decision, comes in.

Since, I painted it a pretty neutral color, I wanna use some fun knobs to dress it up.

Kelly reminded me that Anthropologie had cool knobs and that some of them were even on sale!

YAY!

I went to Pier One the other day to take advantage of their 75% off Christmas items and racked up! Lots of goodies for the gift closet!

Oh, how I love me some Pier One!
